From May 10-14, 2009, SGI-Canada hosted an exhibition booth at the 5th World Environmental Education Congress, held in Montreal's Palais des Congrès. The annual congress is held in a different country each year, with educators, professors, university students, researchers and community leaders attending. Based on the theme "Earth, Our Common Home," the event examined the invaluable contributions of environmental education.

Representative SGI-Canada members were able to exchange insights and ideas with environmental educators and world citizens from every continent, sharing SGI's involvement with international environmental initiatives, such as Classroom Connections, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational resources for Canadian schools in the Ontario region that have suffered cutbacks. The SGI-Canada booth attracted a steady stream of visitors dedicated to spreading the word about sustainable development.
