On April 22, 2009, SGI-USA Florida members showcased the "Seeds of Change: The Earth Charter and Human Potential" exhibition at the Earth Day at the Capitol event in Waller Park, Tallahassee. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection hosted the event, which was designed to educate teachers and students on ways to make their schools more environmentally friendly. SGI-USA members engaged in lively discussions with students and handed out more than 300 bookmarks highlighting the principles of the Earth Charter. The charter provides a framework for addressing issues including environmental protection and equitable human development for the world's citizens. More than 600 people viewed the exhibition.
