Japan-China Youth Environmental Forum Held in Hokkaido, Japan
On April 5, 2009, a Chinese youth delegation visited Hokkaido and attended a Japan-China Youth Environmental Forum on April 6 at Soka Gakkai Hokkaido Culture Center in Sapporo. Following remarks from Hokkaido Soka Gakkai Youth Leader Akira Nishihara, Hokkaido Soka Gakkai Youth Peace and Culture Conference members presented a study on the "Effects of Global Warming on Drift Ice." Li Yangyang, secretary general of Shanghai Youth Federation of Literary and Art Circles, spoke about "China's Environmental Efforts." Ni Jian, head of the delegation and All-China Youth Federation Deputy Secretary-General, stated he was convinced the exchange would lead to positive results in various areas, including environmental conservation.
