"Dialogue with Nature" Opens at New Soka Gakkai Indonesia Center
On May 14, "Dialogue with Nature--An Exhibition of Photographs by Daisaku Ikeda," featuring some 100 photographs the SGI leader has taken on his travels in Japan and abroad, opened at the new Soka Gakkai Indonesia (SGI-Indonesia) Headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia. The show has also toured Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surybaya cities. Attending were guests from various sectors of society, including President Hasanuddin Yusuf of the Indonesia National Youth Council Central Board and Mrs. Mufidah Jusuf Kalla, wife of Indonesian Vice President Muhammad Jusuf Kalla. Mr. Hasanuddin said through his photographs, Mr. Ikeda was appealing to humanity to cherish nature, and that this message transcends ethnicity, traditions and culture to link the hearts of people everywhere. Following the ribbon-cutting, SGI-Indonesia young women and women's division members presented traditional folk music, songs and dances. Mrs. Mufidah Jusuf Kalla commented that the photographs moved her deeply. The exhibition will show at the SGI-Indonesia headquarters until May 28, and then tour other Indonesian cities.
