"Seeds of Change" Environmental Exhibit Opens at National University of Technology in Lima, Peru
From April 21 through May 6, "Seeds of Change: The Earth Charter and Human Potential," an exhibit highlighting the Earth Charter as a "map" pointing the way toward sustainable living and environmental preservation, showed at the Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria (UNI) (National University of Technology), Lima, Peru. Guests included: UNI Rector Roberto Morales Morales; UNI Secretary-General Jorge H. Ruiz Botto; Library Director Bilma Elizabeth Osorio Marujo; UNI Culture Director Fernando Caller Salas; and Peruvian Institute of Nuclear Energy (IPEN) Managing Director Modesto Montoya Zavaleta. Rector Morales stated that in fostering leaders in various sectors of society, UNI emphasizes the importance not only of educating them in technology but in having correct values. He concurred with the message of the exhibition, which appeals for the harmonious coexistence of humans and the natural environment.
