Soka Gakkai Members Engaged in Fishing and Farming Meet in Hokkaido, Miyagi, and Akita

On March 13, Soka Gakkai Agriculture and Fisheries Department members met in Hokkaido, Miyagi and Akita, respectively. In Hokkaido, young farmers and fishermen held an experience rally in Shinshinotsu Village in Ishikari Province. Hideyuki Mori of Yubari City, Miwa Nakamura of Shinshinotsu Village and Yuichi Takahashi of Hayakita Village shared their determinations as the new generation of farmers taking on the task of cultivating the land and sea. Isamu Miyata, Central Union chair of Japan Agricultural Cooperatives, expressed strong support and admiration for the ardent passion of these youthful farmers taking responsibility for the future of agriculture.

On the same day, Tohoku members engaged in agriculture and fishing shared their joy of tilling the earth and breathing the ocean air at a rally in Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture. An Agriculture and Fisheries Renaissance Rally was also held in Fujisato Town in Akita Prefecture.
