Women Walk for Peace in Wellington, New Zealand

On March 8, SGI-New Zealand Aotearoa (SGI-NZ) women from Wellington commemorated International Women's Day by taking part in the 2012 Wellington Women Walk for Peace. Women from all walks of life, religions and cultures joined the walk to protest against war and violence against women and children, and for the empowerment of women around the world.

The walk is an annual event that aims to build an awareness of the interconnectedness and interdependence of women, and their work for peace. SGI-NZ was one of the supporters of this event.
