On October 14, SGI-Panama youth members sponsored a peace forum titled "Challenges and Actions for Peace" aimed at uniting youth toward the shared goal of promoting peace. The event also included a showing of the joint SGI and the Earth Charter International environmental exhibition "Seeds of Hope: Visions of Sustainability, Steps Towards Change" (SOH) at the SGI-Panama Culture Center in Panama City. Including students and guests from the University of Panama, some 400 people attended.

At the forum, five young people voiced their thoughts based on themes from SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's annual peace proposals. Topics included sustainable development and energy, lessons learned from history and visions for the future.

In addition to the SOH exhibition, visitors also viewed displays introducing SGI’s activities promoting peace, culture and education.
