On December 8, SGI-Argentina's Women's Peace Committee hosted a meeting focused on discussing  SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's 2011 Peace Proposal titled "Toward a World of Dignity for All: The Triumph of the Creative Life." Nobel Peace Prize laureate Adolfo Pérez Esquivel of Argentina and his wife, Amanda Guerreño, attended along with some 150 women. The meeting was followed by a question and answer session during which one participant asked how women can become proponents of peace and harmony within society. Dr. Pérez Esquivel responded by talking about the importance of being actively engaged in one's community and taking concrete action. He also stressed the significance of listening carefully to others when having dialogue.

SGI-Argentina plans to hold seminars on education and human rights in 2012, as well as SGI's antinuclear exhibition "From a Culture of Violence to a Culture of Peace: Transforming the Human Spirit."
