Peace and Disarmament
THS Exhibition Shown in Australia
SGI-Australia General Director Greg Johns gave a speech
From April 12-26, 2010, SGI-Australia cohosted the "From a Culture of Violence to a Culture of Peace: Transforming the Human Spirit" (THS) exhibition at the Gosford City Library located in the Erina Fair shopping center in Gosford, Australia.
Cosponsoring organizations for the exhibition included the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), Mayors for Peace, Australian Conservation Foundation and Gosford City Council. The exhibition was viewed by approximately 20,000 over a period of two weeks.

Gosford Mayor Chris Holstein gave an opening speech applauding the efforts of SGI, ICAN and Mayors for Peace for cosponsoring the exhibition. He emphasized that while issues such as global warming, the global financial crisis and terrorism dominate the news, it is important not to forget the imminent danger posed by nuclear weapons.
As a grandfather of four, Mayor Holstein expressed his hope to create a better world for future generations. From this perspective, he praised the educational contribution of the THS exhibition, especially for its ability to raise awareness in an accessible way.
