From February 20-28, 2010, SGI-Thailand, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, hosted the exhibition "From a Culture of Violence to a Culture of Peace: Transforming the Human Spirit" in Bangkok. Some 500 visited the show, which was on the second floor of the Paragon Shopping Center.

Minister of Culture Teera Slukpetch presided over the official opening, which was also attended by Permanent Secretary of Culture Vira Rojpojchanarat. In his speech, Mr. Slukpetch expressed his empathy with SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's statement that countries cannot realize their own success upon the sufferings of other countries. He also stated that a society's ethics must be reoriented toward helping to advance peace. SGI-Thailand General Director Navarat Chinomi spoke about the meaning and aim of the exhibition.

"From a Culture of Violence to a Culture of Peace: Transforming the Human Spirit" examines the nuclear weapons issue through the lens of human security. The exhibition was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the declaration by Josei Toda, the second president of the Soka Gakkai, calling for a ban on nuclear weapons, made on September 8, 1957.
