Transforming the Human Spirit Exhibition Shown in Malaysia
From January 25 to February 5, 2010, Soka Gakkai Malaysia (SGM) co-organized the exhibition "From a Culture of Violence to a Culture of Peace: Transforming the Human Spirit" with Museum of Asian Art and the Department of Chinese Studies, University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur. More than 600 viewed the exhibition which took place at the Museum of Asian Art at the University of Malaya.
On January 26, Professor Dr. Mohammad Redzuan Othman, dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Malaya officially opened the exhibition. Also attending the opening were SGM General Director Choo Kong Fei, Secretary-General Koh Sia Feai and Public Relations Department Head Katherine Chui. In his remarks, Dr. Redzuan emphasized that abolishing nuclear weapons is the responsibility of the entire human race. He went on to say that apathy toward this present and real issue is a form of "silent violence" which may eventually lead to war. Dr. Redzuan encouraged those in attendance to take an active role in promoting peace within their communities.
