Culture of Peace Exhibition Shown in Hokkaido, Miyagi and Kanagawa

Soka Gakkai's "Building a Culture of Peace for the Children of the World" exhibition opened in Hokkaido, Miyagi and Kanagawa, Japan, on October 29.

In Miyagi, the exhibition was shown in the town of Wakayanagi until October 31. Midori Miura, executive chair of the exhibition committee, and Chieko Sugawara, president of the National Federation of Regional Women's Organizations in Miyagi, attended the opening.

In addition, the Soka Gakkai exhibition "Women and a Culture of Peace" was shown at the Asahikawa Industry Promotion Center in Hokkaido from October 29 to November 2.

Sakiko Magoshiro, head of the exhibition committee, greeted attendees at the opening ceremony. Also present was Harumi Hazama, vice executive director of the child-rearing support group in Asahikawa. She spoke about the need for collaborative efforts in working toward creating a peaceful society for the sake of future generations.

In Kanagawa, the Soka Gakkai Women's Peace Committee (WPC) sponsored the Culture of Peace Forum at the Atsugi Peace Center. Yumiko Yasuoka, president of WPC in Kanagawa, attended, as well as Kazue Horie, a member of the board of trustees at Shohoku College in Kanagawa.
