From April 3-4, 2009, the "Victory Over Violence" (VOV) exhibition was showcased at the annual University of Notre Dame Student Peace Conference, South Bend, Indiana, USA. More than 100 students from 20 universities, as well as 25 SGI-USA members and friends from southwestern Michigan and northern Indiana, participated in the two-day event titled "Perspectives on Peace."

The conference, sponsored by the university's Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, united undergraduate and graduate students to discuss ways of building a culture of peace. Lisa Schirch, 3D Security Initiative program director and professor of peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, served as the event's keynote speaker. The VOV exhibition is a youth-sponsored initiative to help young people identify and counteract the root causes of violence in their daily lives.
