SGI-USA Exhibition Supports "Alternatives to Violence" Project

On October 22, 2008, SGI-USA representatives participated in the Alternatives to Violence Project that introduces experiential workshops to empower people to lead more peaceful lives. The Ventura County Interfaith Community hosted the event in Westlake Village, California, USA. The organization promotes open dialogue and understanding among various religious traditions as well as advancing peace and understanding in local communities and the world.

The SGI exhibition "Victory Over Violence" (VOV) was on display at the venue. David Beber, a local SGI-USA young men's leader, moderated the event. After introducing the goals of VOV, an initiative spearheaded by SGI-USA youth to help young people identify and counteract the root causes of violence in their lives and their communities, participants discussed practical means of preventing violence in their lives and environments.
