Soka Gakkai Women's Peace Committee Hosts Culture of Peace Forums

On November 26, the Soka Gakkai Women's Peace Committee sponsored "Culture of Peace" forums in Tokyo, Saitama and Shizuoka. Some 1,500 attended the forum at the Amyu Tachikawa Hall in Tachikawa City, Tokyo. Five women shared their experiences that included a first hand account of war and involvement in a support group for children refusing to go to school. Saitama Soka Gakkai Women's Peace Committee sponsored a forum at the Niiza Culture Center in Niiza City, Saitama Prefecture. Yayoi Nonaka spoke about her efforts to promote Sino-Japan friendship, while Yuriko Isshiki told how she and her daughter fought to overcome her daughter's illness and together challenged to build a harmonious family. At the Numazu Culture Center, four women spoke about their efforts to create peace through cultural exchanges.
