Gabriel René Moreno Autonomous University's Legal, Political and Social Research Center, Bolivia, Commends SGI President for Peace Contributions

The Legal, Political and Social Research Center, associated with the Gabriel René Moreno Autonomous University (UAGRM: Universidad Autonoma Gabriel René Moreno), Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, commended SGI President Daisaku Ikeda for his humanitarian activities for world peace. The conferral took place on October 28 during the university's annual exhibition on science, culture and technology. Established in 1880, UAGRM currently enrolls some 34,000 students in 49 departments in 12 faculties. Director Miriam Akamine Nunez of the UAGRM Legal, Political and Social Research Center has headed research of the peace activities of the SGI and Mr. Ikeda since 1994. Under the tutelage of Ms. Akamine, students prepared for the exhibition by conducting research on nuclear issues during which they learned about the SGI's antinuclear weapons campaigns. SGI-Bolivia Vice Young Men's Division Chief Marcelo Oroza Montellano received a certificate, on Mr. Ikeda's behalf, from Ms. Akamine.

SGI-Bolivia members and university students
