Soka Gakkai Youth in Arakawa Ward, Tokyo, Sponsor World Peace Memorial Service for War Victims

On August 15, the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II, Soka Gakkai youth sponsored a "World Peace Memorial Service for War Victims" at the Soka Gakkai Arakawa Culture Center in Arakawa Ward, Tokyo. Soka Gakkai representatives, including Soka Gakkai General Director Toru Aoki, Youth Division Chief Kazuhiko Takeuchi, Young Women's Division Chief Mitsuko Tateno, and families and friends prayed for the repose of war victims of Japan, Asia and the entire world. Mr. Takeuchi, representing the youth, vowed to carry on the legacy of the first three Soka Gakkai presidents' antiwar stance and their struggles on behalf of peace. Mr. Aoki called on youth to build a century of respect for the sanctity of life. Services were held at Soka Gakkai centers and memorial parks throughout Japan.
