SGI-UK members in the CathedralSGI-UK members took part in Holocaust Memorial Day titled "Space for Peace" at Winchester Cathedral on January 26. All the pews from the cathedral were removed temporarily to allow space for a large standing audience.
A total of seven choirs, amounting to 200 people, performed individually and were also assembled together to sing 'Peace Vigil Chants at Close'. Participants included SGI-UK members and representatives from the Jewish, Muslim and Hindu faiths.
The SGI-UK representatives were allotted a space in the Cathedral where they offered prayers for peace by chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo and reciting portions of the Lotus Sutra.
