SGI-Panama Participates in Religious Scriptures Exhibition

On September 30, 2008, in commemoration of Holy Bible Day in Panama, the National Assembly’s Chamber of Representatives' Social Affairs Technical Department organized an exhibition on religious scriptures that displayed sacred writings from the world's major religious traditions.

The exhibition officially opened with a speech by Prof. Dídimo Escobar, deputy secretary general of the National Assembly. He pointed out the importance of applying religious principles and respecting religious freedom to develop a vital culture of peace.

SGI-Panama participated together with representatives of the Ecumenical Committee of Panama, the Catholic Church, the Baha’i House of Worship, the Unification Church of Balboa, Hare Krishna and Islamic groups. SGI-Panama displayed Spanish and Japanese versions of The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, SGI-Panama's organ magazines Vision XXI and Puente de Paz (Bridge for Peace), and books written by SGI President Daisaku Ikeda.
