Singapore Interfaith Lecture at Islamic Center

On January 25, 2007, two Singapore Soka Association (SSA) representatives, Vice General Director Chan Heng Yuen and Peace Study Committee member Lim Jih Yang, were invited to attend a lecture organized by the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS). Held at the MUIS Harmony Centre, the event was attended by some 30 religious and community leaders in Singapore.

A representative from the World Conference of Religions for Peace (WCRP), based in New York City, USA, spoke on "Different Faiths, Common Action," introducing the work of the WCRP throughout the world and Singapore's role in the global interfaith community. WCRP, with a network spanning 55 countries, is considered to be the world's largest coalition of religious communities actively engaged in a global dialogue of peace among religions.
