Human Rights Activist Addresses SGI-Kenya Women

On June 11, SGI women members in Kenya and other countries in eastern Africa gathered at the University of Nairobi to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Soka Gakkai's Women's Division. Ms. Betty Kaari Murungi, a human rights and peace activist, as well as an international lawyer, attended as a guest speaker and spoke about women's rights. Ms. Murungi received the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear in 2003. 

Dr. Henry Indangasi, chairman of the Writers' Association of Kenya, and his wife also attended. The meeting included a dance and chorus performance
