SGI-Iceland Youth Support Europe-wide "Action Week Against Racism"

On March 10, 2010, eleven SGI-Iceland youth members collaborated with the Red Cross of Iceland and the national Human Rights office, in an activity to raise awareness about racism. The event was part of the annual Europe-wide "Action Week Against Racism," a campaign inspired by the United Nations General Assembly's declaration of March 21 as "International Day for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination."

The Action Week Against Racism initiative aims to highlight racism from a non-governmental perspective and calls on people to actively engage in promoting tolerance and equal rights and to celebrate diversity.
