On April 4, the Thai Ministry of Culture organized a charity concert "Magokoro 2011" (From Our Heart: Thailand to Japan 2011) at the Thailand Culture Centre in Bangkok to support victims of the March 11 earthquake and subsequent tsunamis that hit Japan. Supporters of the concert included Soka Gakkai Thailand (SGT), Thai PBS Channel (TPBS) and the 70-year-old Suntarapon Orchestra.

The event included performances by musicians, Japanese food stalls, souvenir shops and a charity T-shirt sale. Among those performing were SGT members singing Japanese songs and playing the koto (Japanese harp).
