On February 20, 2010, SGI-El Salvador youth members visited a nursing home in El Salvador City as part of their annual community out-reach efforts. The young people performed music and dance for the elderly residents.

The visit was reported on a national TV network in El Salvador. As part of the program, SGI-El Salvador Young Men's Leader Rolando Renato Soto and Young Women's Leader Jackeline Mejia were interviewed about SGI's various peace, culture and education activities. The youth leaders also introduced the multifarious peace activities and dialogues of SGI President Daisaku Ikeda.

Previous volunteer activities that SGI-El Salvador has conducted included book donations to libraries and earthquake relief, which involved the distribution of food and supplies to those affected by the devastation. SGI-El Salvador is strongly committed to contributing to the social development of the country through these community based volunteer activities.
