On February 10, 2010, SGI-Thailand (SGT) made a donation in the amount of THB 1,274,691 (approximately US$38,342) to assist relief efforts in Haiti in the wake of the devastating earthquake almost one month earlier in January. Several SGT representatives, including Executive Chair Somsak Likijariyanon, notified Culture Minister Teera Slukpetch at the Parliament House of Thailand in Bangkok to deliver the check. Mr. Teera thanked SGT for the donation and said it would be included in the Thais Help Haiti Victims fund that the government set up in response to the humanitarian disaster following the earthquake.

In addition, on January 24, SGT helped sell tickets for a charity concert organized by the Ministry of Culture which featured the Thai band Suntaraporn. Proceeds from the ticket sales will be used towards assisting victims in Haiti.
