UNHCR Representative in Japan Visits Soka Gakkai Headquarters

On December 11, 2008, Johan Cels, representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Japan, visited Soka Gakkai President Minoru Harada and Executive Director of the SGI Office of Public Information Hirotsugu Terasaki, at the Soka Gakkai Headquarters in Shinanomachi, Tokyo.

Mr. Cels expressed his deep appreciation for SGI President Daisaku Ikeda and SGI members' humanitarian assistance, including monetary donations made for relief efforts following the cyclone disaster in Myanmar in May of this year. They also discussed the SGI's activities to support the United Nations and human security issues.
