Youth Festivals Held in Korea

From March 17-April 1, SGI-Korea held youth festivals throughout the nation which included songs, dance, taiko drumming and guitar performances. The festivals were held at 75 venues with a total of about 50,000 youth taking part. One such festival was held at Kyung Hee University, Seoul, where SGI President Daisaku Ikeda received an honorary doctorate in philosophy in 1998. At another festival held at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, the University's vice president, Kim Haeyong, attended and encouraged youth to become individuals who can contribute to the betterment of society.
