On November 4, Singapore Soka Association's (SSA) Senior Citizens Group celebrated the 20th anniversary of its founding. Some 1,100 people attended the commemorative meeting at the Ikeda Culture Auditorium at SSA Headquarters under the theme of living youthful and hope-filled lives. Demonstrating their youthful spirit, the group's members put on dance and choral performances.

SGI President Daisaku Ikeda sent a congratulatory message and renamed the group the Hoju Group (Treasure Longevity Group). Mdm. Lee Ah Tat, the group's coordinator, remarked that the new name signaled a fresh departure for the Senior Citizens Group. SSA Honorary General Director Ong Bon Chai also spoke at the meeting and renewed his determination to strive with all his vigor.
