SGI-Sweden Hosts Buddhist Mingle
On September 1, SGI-Sweden hosted a "mingle"--an introductory Buddhist meeting in Stockholm that was open to the public. In total, 300 people attended. Video presentations and personal faith-based experiences from practicing members offered guests insight into the practice of Nichiren Buddhism and how its philosophy can help empower people to have hope and create positive change in society. Buddhist concepts discussed at the meeting included "earthly desires lead to enlightenment," "changing poison into medicine" and "the ten worlds." Guests also enjoyed music performances and were invited to try chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, the primary practice of Nichiren Buddhists.
