SGI Members Kickoff 2011 Activities in Philippines and Bolivia
SGI-Philippines members met January 15-16 at the SGI-Philippines Culture Center in Quezon, Manila. With 2011 marking the 20th anniversary (April 1991) of SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's first visit to the Philippines, SGI-Philippines youth members will hold a youth culture festival during the summer to commemorate the anniversary.
In a message read at the meeting, Mr. Ikeda congratulated participants for their exemplary efforts and momentum to work toward spreading world peace and in the process, overcoming various difficulties. He also expressed his hope that each member would advance joyfully in life with a spirit of harmonizing with others.
From January 8-9, SGI Bolivia members held a national leaders training course at the SGI-Bolivia Culture Center in Santa Cruz. Some 300 attended. SGI-Bolivia General Director KatsuoTakeno called on those at the meeting to take the lead in their local areas to help raise capable people.
