SGI-Chile Celebrates the Month of July

SGI-Chile Culture Center At the SGI-Chile Culture Center in Santiago

On July 3, a prayer meeting commemorating the day of mentor and disciple was held at the SGI-Chile Culture Center in Santiago. At the meeting, youth members made presentations on key incidents in the history of Soka Gakkai and studied Nichiren's writing, "On Establishing the Correct Teaching for the Peace of the Land." Performances were given by the SGI-Chile youth brass band, the fife-and-drum corps and the chorus group.

In his speech, SGI-Chile General Director Fumio Imai stated that SGI President Ikeda continued to be deeply concerned about all those who had been evacuated and affected by the eruption of Puyehue volcano on June 4, 2011.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Gonzalo Taborga, president of the Chilean Human Rights Commission.
