Hong Kong and Macau SGI Members Take Buddhist Study Exam
On December 11, SGI members from Hong Kong and Macau took part in the first entrance-level study exam in their respective areas. In Hong Kong, some 1,500 took part in the exam which was administered at venues such as the SGI-Hong Kong Culture Center and Tuen Mun Culture Center. In Macau, exams were held throughout the city. Leading up to the exam, participants studied key Buddhist concepts and the writings of Nichiren. After challenging the exam, some test takers remarked that they would try to put into practice the spirit of "repaying one's debt of gratitude," which they learned from Nichiren's writings, as well as make steady efforts to better their lives through deepening their understanding and practice of Buddhism.
