Anniversary of Soka Gakkai Youth Groups Celebrated in Uruguay
SGI-Uruguay young women’s group membersOn July 30 and 31, SGI-Uruguay youth members celebrated the 60th anniversaries of the establishment of the Soka Gakkai Young Men's and Young Women's Divisions in Japan in July 1951.
The young women's group held its general meeting commemorating the anniversary at the SGI-Uruguay Culture Center on July 30. The participants expressed their appreciation for the dedication to the development of young people shown by SGI President Daisaku Ikeda and pioneer members. A common thread that ran through the meeting was how the application of Buddhist practice to overcoming difficulties can bring about an inner transformation and flowering of the unlimited potential or Buddhahood that exists within each person.
SGI-Uruguay young men's group membersSGI-Uruguay General Director Hiroyuki Kaetsu attended the young men's group meeting, themed "Overcoming One's Weakness," held at the same venue on July 31.
