SGI Spring Training Session Concludes

On March 8, 2010, participants of SGI's Spring Training Session concluded their activities in Japan at the Soka International Friendship Hall in Sendagaya, Tokyo, with a lecture on Nichiren's writing "The Opening of the Eyes" delivered by SGI Study Department Leader Katsuji Saito.

Mr. Saito spoke about how a true practitioner of the Lotus Sutra is one who has vowed to continuously strive to actualize world peace, overcoming all difficulties with an indomitable resolve. He called on each participant to develop a heart that is never defeated and to win in life, advancing alongside their mentor.

Following the lecture, the representative SGI members gathered at the Soka Gakkai Shinjuku Culture Center in Tokyo, where they met with SGI President Daisaku Ikeda, SGI General Director Yoshitaka Oba and SGI Women's Leader Kayoko Asano.

Mr. Ikeda conveyed his deepest respect for the SGI members who had traveled long distances to attend the SGI Spring Training Session and called on each person to become a leader based on strong faith and courage who works hard for the sake of people's happiness. He encouraged everyone to strive to always create unity as a true disciple and to leads lives full of joy. Mr. Ikeda also expressed his heartfelt prayers for the health, happiness and victory of those attending. Lastly, as an expression of his appreciation, Mr. Ikeda performed two pieces on the piano.
