On January 31, 2010, SGI-Sweden held a general meeting in Stockholm at its SGI-Sweden Culture Center. Members gathered from throughout the country, with some travelling from as far away as Gotland Island, Sweden.

During the event, SGI-Sweden Women's Leader Marion Lindblom and Youth Leader Anna-Carin Joelsson spoke about the importance and relevance of SGI's small, grassroots discussion meetings during which members can engage in life to life dialogue.

SGI-Sweden General Director Fredrik Hultman shared his personal determination to renew his spirit each day and, based on prayer, take action to treasure and deepen his friendships. SGI-Sweden Executive Advisor Shoji Owada asked the participants to seize the initiative in advancing the world peace movement while at the same realizing their own happiness. To accomplish this, he emphasized the importance of learning from and having a shared commitment with one's mentor.

During February, chapters in Sweden gathered. On February 6, members of South Sweden Chapter held their general meeting in Malmö similary. On February 7, West Sweden Chapter held its meeting in Gothenburg.
