On January 31, 2010, approximately 200 SGI-Switzerland members gathered for a general meeting in the city of Lucerne.

SGI-Switzerland Young Women's Leader Tae Takahashi reported on recent activities carried out by the young women. General Director Massimo Marazii and Women's Leader Mitsue Takahashi encouraged everyone to make 2010—the 80th anniversary of the Soka Gakkai's founding—a memorable year of advancements in their own lives and in deepening connections with their friends.

SGI Europe Chair Hideaki Takahashi and Women Chair Sakae Takahashi mentioned that 2011 will mark the 50th anniversary of SGI President Daisaku Ikeda's first visit to Europe, and expressed their hope that SGI-Switzerland members would challenge to deepen their understanding of the shared commitment of mentor and disciple as it relates to their practice of Nichiren Buddhism.
