On December 20, 2009, approximately 700 leaders from SGI-Philippines attended a nationwide meeting at the SGI Philippines Culture Center in Manila. SGI-Philippines National Secretary Ronald Hernandez, Youth Leader Jeremias Zhel Cruz and Young Men's Leader Rodel Paul Sauza were newly appointed at the event.

Representatives reported on activities in their respective areas and shared determinations for 2010, which marks the 80th anniversary of Soka Gakkai's founding (November 18, 1930).

The gathering included performances by the SGI-Philippines Fife-and-Drum Corps, Brass Band and Chorus Group. SGI-Philippines General Director Roger Cabauatan spoke about the importance of basing one's resolve and actions on gratitude, to open the way to victory for both mentor and disciple. He also encouraged participants to foster youth and work to build the foundation for the future prosperity of the country.
