SGI-Gabon Establishes New District
On December 26, 2009, SGI members in Gabon established a new district and held a commemorative meeting in the city of Libreville. SGI President Daisaku Ikeda sent a message for the meeting, calling on the members to advance world peace with unity based on a spirit of “many in body, one in mind.” Christian Mouity and Blandine Akendengue were appointed district leader and vice district leader, respectively.
SGI-Togo General Director Ida Gbodossou-Adjevi and SGI-Cameroon General Director Claire Dikongue also joined the meeting. In their remarks, they encouraged those attending to help establish an Africa full of hope, expanding a network of peace, culture and education based on Nichiren’s Buddhism.
