Importance of Courageous Action Emphasized at Soka Gakkai Headquarters Leaders Meeting Held in Tokyo

On September 10, 2009, the monthly Soka Gakkai Headquarters Leaders Meeting was held at the Makiguchi Memorial Hall in Hachioji, Tokyo. SGI President Daisaku Ikeda and Soka Gakkai President Minoru Harada attended the meeting together with representative members including 74 SGI members from 12 countries and territories.

In his speech, Mr. Ikeda shared quotes by renowned sages from the East and the West and stated that concrete efforts for the peace and prosperity of the world are a great and eternal undertaking. Expressing his sincere appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the SGI members, Mr. Ikeda said that leaders should respect and treasure the members as if they were Buddhas.

Mr. Ikeda then emphasized that in the course of our efforts to realize world peace it is important to make a strong determination to always be courageous.

During the meeting, SGI-Korea Vice Young Women's Leader Kim Ju Yeon reported how SGI-Korea young women have initiated dialogue and sparked hope among their friends.
