On May 3, 2009, SGI-Argentina held an elementary-level study examination on Nichiren Buddhism at 31 venues throughout the country. The study material included two of Nichiren's letters to his followers--"Reply to Sairen-bo" and "Reply to Ueno." After the exam, a participant who recently began practicing Nichiren Buddhism commented, "I am profoundly encouraged since I have learned that the strategy to win a victory in my life can be found in Nichiren's writings."

On May 24, 2009, SGI-Argentina leaders met at the SGI-Argentina Peace Auditorium in Buenos Aires. SGI-Argentina General Director Yo Minagawa and some 900 representatives attended. During the meeting, SGI-Argentina's Ikeda Vanguard Orchestra and Soka Chorus performed music and dance.
