SGI-Hong Kong Announces New Leaders

On May 9, 2009, SGI-Hong Kong held a leaders meeting at the SGI-Hong Kong Culture Center. Some 1,500 participated in the event which was also a kick-off for SGI-Hong Kong's 50th anniversary in 2011. General Director John Ng Chor Yuk and Women's Leader Wo Wai Kuen were announced as new national leaders. Lee Kong Sau, former general director became honorary general director, and Lam Fung Miu Ching, former women's leader, became women's advisor. Mr. Ng and Ms. Wo expressed their determination to work for the further development of Hong Kong by manifesting in their actions the shared commitment of mentor and disciple. SGI General Director Yoshitaka Oba also attended the meeting.

SGI President Daisaku Ikeda sent a congratulatory message and presented the following new guidelines for SGI-Hong Kong: (1) practice the shared commitment of mentor and disciple; (2) embody the Buddhist concept of "many in body and one in mind;" and (3) become happy and victorious.
