The Marronnier University Group was formed on May 16, 1975, at the suggestion of SGI President Daisaku Ikeda when he visited SGI-France's Paris Culture Center. He encouraged the behind-the-scenes staff saying, "You have faith so that each one of you can raise up a victorious flag in the community."
During the meeting, participants shared their personal experiences and activity reports based on their faith and practice of Nichiren Buddhism and pledged to each other to further develop their capabilities.
