SGI-Czech Chapter Celebrates 17th Anniversary

On April 18, 2009, SGI-Czech Chapter celebrated its 17th anniversary in Prague, Czech Republic. During the commemorative meeting, members shared their experiences of applying Buddhist humanism in their daily lives. These were followed by a men's group musical performance and a study presentation by women. Using images and music, youth members introduced the history and spirit of the shared commitment of mentor and disciple as exemplified by Soka Gakkai's three founding presidents.

SGI-Europe Vice Chair Jan Møller quoted from Nichiren's writing, "On Prolonging One's Life Span," and encouraged the participants to continue advancing in their personal development. SGI-Czech Chapter Leader Bedrich Dolezal and Chapter Women's Leader Yuko Izutsu expressed their determination that the SGI-Czech organization will be one that encourages the youth, who are the future, to become beacons of hope in the community.
