Soka Gakkai Holds Monthly Leaders Meeting in Tokyo

On February 11, 2008, Soka Gakkai held its monthly leaders meeting at the Soka International Friendship Hall in Sendagaya, Tokyo, commemorating the 109th anniversary of the birth of second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda. SGI President Daisaku Ikeda attended, together with Soka Gakkai President Minoru Harada, Women's Division Leader Asami Mitsui, as well as SGI members from 12 countries and territories.

Mr. Ikeda spoke of Josei Toda's birthday as well as the birth anniversary of Nichiren (February 16, 1222). Quoting Mr. Toda, Mr. Ikeda emphasized that faith means being courageous. He stated that the darker the times, the more people seek a philosophy that gives them hope and strength to keep advancing and urged everyone to wholeheartedly encourage and treasure each person who is moving society in a direction of peace and happiness.
