In a message, SGI President Daisaku Ikeda first expressed his heartfelt condolences for the victims of the recent terror attack in Mumbai, west India. He then praised and encouraged the BSG members who are making peace building efforts, based on the humanistic philosophy of Nichiren Buddhism.
BSG's current membership is 35,000 in over 200 cities throughout the country. At the meeting, new national leaders were announced: Vishesh Gupta, men's leader; Chabi Prasad, women's leader; Manish Kapoor, young men's leader; and Archana Sehgal, young women's leader. BSG Chair Gopinath Menon congratulated everyone on their successes and encouraged them to continue to achieve personal victories based on the unity of "many in body and one in mind."
