3,500 SGI-Germany Members Gather in Berlin
On October 25, 2008, some 3,500 SGI-Germany members gathered from throughout the country at the Tempodrom concert hall in Berlin. Forty-seven pioneer SGI members from 17 European countries also attended the meeting. Dr. Horst-Eberhard Richter, co-founder and honorary board member for the German Chapter of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW), SGI President Daisaku Ikeda and Mrs. Kaneko Ikeda sent congratulatory messages. A video of SGI-Germany's development since Mr. Ikeda's first visit in 1960 was screened and new SGI-Germany youth leaders were appointed. Members from throughout Germany presented cultural performances.
