SGI Associations Throughout Latin America Hold Commemorative Meetings

During August 2008, SGI men throughout Latin America met at their respective locales to celebrate August 24, one of the SGI's commemorative days as well as the day SGI President Daisaku Ikeda joined the Soka Gakkai in 1947.

On August 23 and 24, 212 SGI-Mexico men and young men gathered to discuss what it takes to win trust and friendship at their workplaces and also how to foster capable youth for the future. Some 40 men met on August 24 at the SGI-Paraguay Culture Center where participants studied one of Nichiren's writings and renewed their determination to show concrete results in their daily lives as well as make efforts for the happiness of others. On the same day, SGI members met in Nicaragua and Uruguay. In Argentina, 3,511 men, including many guests, attended commemorative meetings held in August throughout the country.
