SGI-Venezuela Women Meet

During June 2008, some 3,100 SGI-Venezuela women and young women gathered for conferences throughout the country. In the city of Valera, Trujillo State, 500 kilometers west of the capital Caracas, 200 attended the women's conference. Extensive preparations and one-on-one dialogues resulted in increased participation from last year's attendance of 36. A gathering in the Amazon Basin area, the southernmost part of the country, included 35 acquaintances of the five local members. SGI-Venezuela Women's Leader Shoko Kikuchi emphasized the importance of women being able to transcend their differences so they can come together and positively contribute to their respective communities.
