During May and June 2008, over 600 women and young women, including some 160 guests, gathered for SGI-Netherlands women's meetings at 15 venues throughout the country. Beginning last year and with the leadership of SGI-Netherlands Women's Leader Mieke Iwami and Young Women's Leader Nobuko Kotera, the women and young women have collaborated to hold various meetings and events. Many women members were involved in preparing for these meetings, including developing new friendships in their communities. The meetings provided opportunities for the women to renew their determination to work for the sake of happiness of themselves and others based on their practice of Nichiren Buddhism.
